Transmitted by email 31 July 2019 Dear Brother and Sister Hernandez, Your son has arrived safely in the Ghana Kumasi Mission and has received his first assignment.  We will send a picture of Elder Hernandez with my wife and me. We are so pleased to have him in the Ghana Kumasi Mission and we appreciate your efforts in preparing him for this mission. His first assignment will be with Elder Jacobson in the Dichemso Zone. We are grateful for his willingness to dedicate this time to the Lord and know he will come to love his service here.  We have taught him that he is literally the representative of Jesus Christ in his area. We have promised him that as he strives to do what the Savior would do each day, he will steadily become more like Him. After the general training your son received in the Missionary Training Center (MTC), personal training in the field begins. The training of new missionaries is critical to the success of thei...

Mobbin in the MTC

Yo Yo Yo what up everybody. Its your boi Elder hernandez emailing you from my first P-day in the MTC. I left last Wednesday at 9 PM and got to the MTC about 9 PM ghana time on Thursday. The first flight was niiice. i was in the middle row with an open seat next to me and a girl from denmark next to that seat. i figured that was the last time i could actually talk to a girl for two years so i was talking to her the whole 10 hour flight. we got to the amsterdam airport with around an hour and a half to spare so we took our time getting to the next airport and everyone thought we were crazy because we were a group of 34 young men in white shirts and ties walking around in one big group. Our flight had 2 missionaries from arizona 2 from california one from idaho and one from saudi arabia. the rest were from all around utah.  The first day we were all so exhausted. we had meetings all day in the gym/auditorium so everyone just slept. everyday has basically been just classes so ...

Greetings from Accra, Ghana! We are pleased to report that your missionaries arrived safely tonight at the Ghana MTC. They look tired but happy (pictures attached). We’re delighted to welcome them. We love them already! They join a group of 160 missionaries from 25 countries for this 3-week cycle. We have missionaries from homes in Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Samoa, Argentina, the Marshall Islands, countries all over Africa, and other locations. The work grows across the world. We’ll ask them to email you tomorrow (in about 12-14 hours) to let you know more about their trip. This is a remarkable place to serve! The Church is growing rapidly with people who are faithful, strong, and committed. It is special time and the Lord’s hand is over this area.  Thank you for your support and love. These good young disciples are in the care of our Living Lord. This we know. ...
