4 Months!!!!

Happy 4 months to me today. I keep thinking "man its been 4 months already" then I think "wow its only 4 months" So im in a strange place with that. I feel like I know my area like the back of my hand now. I've got my people, my shops, my soccer pitch, etc. Being in one place everyday for 4 almost 4 months makes you learn a lot about the place. When I was with elder jacobson everyone would call to him. They all knew his name and so they would talk to him. Now its the same but with me. I have people yell "Elder Hernandez" I look and greet them and keep walking. Elder Surtees asks me if I know them and I say that I have never seen that person in my life. People know us in this area and it makes a little kids day when I give them knuckles in front of all their friends. 

This week we started to pump the water anytime we saw someone getting water because they have to do it multiple times to fill one big bucket at their house and carry it there and back. We decided to pump the water for them to make it easier. to fill one of the buckets they carry it takes maybe around 3 minutes of straight pumping. Motion to pump is pretty much the same as doing the ropes at the gym. After one bucket im ready to die but you get a lot of support from people walking by so you push through and fill 2 or 3. You have to quickly walk away so they dont see that your arms are ready to fall off. Its hard to find service that the people will let you do out here becuase they dont think white people can work so you have to take what they will let you do and do it as much as possible.

We met with one girl named gabriella this week. We were talking about school and what her favorite subject. She said history but they dont have a history class at her school. We told her we would teach her ancient american history if she taught us twi. She said its a deal so we took the book of mormon and i read the header at first nephi and explained every story of that small. I want to try to teach every lesson as a story from the book of mormon while also teaching american history. Its going to be a fun time. 

Other than that it was a lot of contacting and meeting with members as well as service. Im havin fun out here in the GKM. Hope all is well back home

This week was hot. Last week we went to a members house to help her fetch water. We had to carry buckets to a pipe not super far away but a nice walk then carry them back full of water. The natives here just carry it on their head but I dont like that too much so I put it on my shoulder. After we fetched 5 buckets I felt like I was going to pass out but I couldnt let the member see that so I continued until we carried a total of 7. My held a lot of dirt toward the end. We started the week with a wonderful lesson with sister Lydia who was taught by missionaries before but she didn't care so she didn't remember anything. She met someone who changed her view on the book or mormon so she decided to read it and came to church. When we went there so was so receptive to everything we taught and was so excited to learn.  We then had to prepare the apartment to receive two new missionaries. Its a Boy

Last week monday after we had returned to the apartment we were cleaning some small things when we got a call from our mission president. It threw me off and I was not prepared for it at all. I answered and he wanted to speak with me and my companion on speaker. He told us that because of the situation in Liberia we need to make room in the mission for 7 missionaries coming from the MTC so my companion went on emergency transfer and I was called to train. He told us we would be leaving on Wednesday to travel to Kumasi.  Tuesday we prepared to leave by saying goodbye to some members and my companion packed. We stayed the night at the Zone Leaders to get up at 4 the next day to get on a bus to Kumasi.  We arrived in Kumasi and went to the stake center of my last area so it was nice seeing it again. I met my son there and we arranged for everyone to travel to their areas. With my area being 7 hours away we stayed at the mission home for the night. MLC ...
