Tamale
This week was transfers so it was kinda crazy but we didn't really do much. Monday and Tuesday we prepared to leave by washing and saying goodbye then Wednsday we left for transfers. We don't get told where we are going before transfers so the whole time you are going you get phone calls from people asking if you know yet. When I got to the stake center we do transfers at I found my zone leader and took the transfer sheet from him. I found my name under the Tamale zone and my companion is my TC so we came the same day to the mtc. Tamale is the furthest zone from the mission home and we had to travel on a bus for 8 hours to get here. We are also the most north zone so it is the hottest zone in the mission. We have a thermometer in our bedroom and the other day it was at 35 degrees celsius which is 95 degrees. It might be a rough transfer with heat but it seems that the work is doing well right now so hopefully we can find joy in that.
Because of the long travel we got to stay in the mission home the night before we left and it was the day before MLC. All the zone leaders also stayed in the mission home and that night we had a big basketball tournament like they always do before MLC. It was cool acting like I was a zone leader for a day.
This Sunday was interesting. I thought my last branch was small. The branch president apparently is able to come about every other week so usually a high councilor from the district comes every sunday. My companion usually conducts and gives a talk then we bless the sacrament as well. For sunday school my companion usually teaches every other week then a member teaches the other weeks. It is going to be interesting. Lucky this Sunday, a lot of people from the district came and during Sunday school they tried to talk about all the less active members and then gave assignments on how to help them come back. That is really going to help our job because everyone has assignment now.
This was my first Sunday since the MTC that church was in engligh though so that was nice. Never thought that would be an issue in an english speaking mission but hey im in africa anything goes.
