Blood and bones

This week was a lot of days outside our area and a lot of time with other missionaries. On wensday we were planning our baptismal interviews when we found out that we needed to be at the government building all day renewing my companions non citizens id card. We were there with all the people that came in his group so it was cool to meet all my fathers tc's. We then went to lunch at a place that sells a lot of american food like chickenstrips and fries and pizza. It was amazing having food like that again with a big portion of meat. We were then in traffic forever so we didn't get our interviews til late.

The next day was thursday and where the subject comes from We talked about what to do when people pass out or when they faint in zone conference but we didn't talk about what to do when someone cuts their leg open and it's gushing blood. We had this experience this week with a good friend of ours at the chapel. We go proselyting with a group of young men in our branch so that they can introduce us to their friends and family as well as translate for us when we need it. One of these young men is 14 and a recent convert to the church who comes because his older brother does. This week we were with them and one of the leaders called us asking to open the chapel so they can practice for an activity coming up so we did and went across the street to buy some food. When we got to the chapel gate we watched this 14 year old friend of ours crash through the sliding glass door then run to us while bleeding. We dropped our food and went to find something to help so Elder Jacobson ran inside and found a towel to stop the bleeding and I asked some people across the street to call a taxi to take him to the hospital. Luckily as I called a taxi dropped someone off and was turning around so as Elder Jacobson was stopping the bleeding the taxi was ready to take him. His brother and friend picked him up and took him to the hospital while Elder Jacobson and I stayed to help clean up. Fortunately the boy was okay and he is currently healing.
The father of the boy does not like the church or us whatsoever so when we went to his house after it all happened and he was discharged we were worried that the dad would not be happy. We ended up going anyway and we were talking to the family for a bit when the dad came outside and saw us. He greeted us for the first time since before missionaries have been going there (before I came on mission) then he thanked us for everything we did to help his son. The spirit was so strong and I know that he felt it.
God has a plan for everybody on this earth and sometimes we need to face our trials head on in order to see the blessings that come from it.

Saturday we went to a youth activity for our stake and our boys absolutely killed it they did a dance routine and they are so good its not even funny. After the activity we filled the font and it took forever so we had a night baptism for three brothers and their mom is next week. We started the service at about 7 and finished around 8 so by the time we left it was dark. A really cool experience but we weren't able to take pictures in the normal spot because with the flash all you would see is the white clothes and the obrunis (white man). So we had to take it inside.

Hope everyone is doing well and is staying safe
